The Neurosurgery Department of Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine is one of the earliest departments offering brain surgery in Zhejiang Province. It is a key specialty supervised by Zhejiang Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The department is equipped with spiral CT Scan, digital subtraction angiography (DSA), Transcranial Doppler (TCD), and hyperbaric oxygen chambers. 

Healthcare facilities: 
40 inpatient beds;
about 4,000 to 5,000 outpatient visits every year;
400 to 600 emergency department visits;
around 600 to 1000 inpatient admissions; 
more than 400 surgeries per year;
equipped with advanced neurosurgery devices including neuronavigation, neuromicroscopy, and intracranial pressure monitor.

Doctors and Medical Staff: 
one chief physician, seven associate chief physicians, two attending physicians, three resident physicians, and two postgraduate supervisors.

Research:
Undertook one project supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, two by Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation, nearly 20 projects at ministerial levels, one provincial key project of traditional Chinese medicine in Zhejiang, one project focusing on building Zhejiang provincial key discipline of neurosurgery rehabilitation, one project initiated by Zhejiang Chinese Medical University;
Published more than 80 journal articles;
Gave lectures to postgraduate students of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University; 
Taught neurosurgery of the First Clinical Medical School of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, and worked to cultivate more qualified medical professionals.

Expertise: 

A team of specialists focus on treating neurosurgical conditions including brain tumors, hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage, and traumatic brain injury, hydrocephalus, central spinal stenosis, and craniocerebral glioma, using integrated therapies like hyperbaric oxygen, acupuncture, physiotherapy, and traditional Chinese medicine to improve recovery of nervous system injuries, applying minimally invasive surgeries including craniocerebral tumor surgery, neuronavigation, and neurointervention for cerebral aneurysms and cerebral vascular malformations, treating cerebral ischemia such as moyamoya disease, with revascularization, integrated therapies of minimally invasive surgery and intervertebral disc replacement, treating, craniocervical junction disorders, intervertebral disc herniation, degenerative cervical disease, and lumbar degenerative disc disease, and treating acute conditions such as traumatic brain injury and intracranial hemorrhage with integrated TCM and western medicine therapies.
