The Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery of Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicien is a key specialty supervised by the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Zhejiang Provincial Clinical Research Center for Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Diseases. The Department of Thyroid Surgery is on the shortlist of best hospital divisions treating refractory thyroid tumors of Zhejiang Rehabilitation Specialist Alliance.

Healthcare Facilities: The Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery has 37 inpatient beds, advanced operating rooms, fluorescence endoscopes, and ultrasound aspirator for liver cutting surgeries. Doctors can perform laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery of hepatobiliary, pancreatic and spleen.
The thyroid surgery team have performed endoscopic thyroid surgeries for years, and they work on ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy and radiofrequency ablation.

Doctors and Medical Staff: 12 medical professionals, including four senior physicians. Three physicians are Ph.D holders.

Expertise: A team of specialists focus on function-preserving surgery for liver, gallbladder and pancreas; laparoscopic pancreatoduodenectomy (LPD), laparoscopic distal pancreatectomy, hemihepatectomy, complex hepatectomy for liver cancer, intraoperative radiofrequency ablation (RFA), surgeries for gallstone and biliary duct calculi, and tumors;
Worked on endoscopic thyroidectomy via breast, oral and vestibular, or axillary approaches. To be noted, the endoscopic thyroid surgery by axillary approach is applicable to patients suffering thyroid tumors with minimal impairment of physical appearance.
