Clinical Experience: 
Professor Gao has been engaged in clinical work of traditional Chinese internal medicine for more than 30 years and has rich experience in treating renal diseases, especially chronic renal failure, diabetic nephropathy, and rheumatic immune diseases (such as systemic lupus erythematosus, lupus nephritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, and Sjogren’s syndrome) with integrated Chinese and western medicine. 

Achievements of Scientific Research:
He is the second batch of the national outstanding Chinese medicine training talents, leader of the key specialty (preventive treatment of diseases) of National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, leader of the of key discipline (preventive treatment of diseases) of traditional Chinese medicine in Zhejiang province, and the director of Zhejiang TCM center for prevention and treatment of major diseases (spinal diseases). He also serves as the standing committee member of the internal medicine branch and the rheumatology branch of China Association of Chinese Medicine, vice president of the Zhejiang Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, vice chairman of the internal medicine branch of Zhejiang Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, vice chairman of the rheumatology branch of Zhejiang Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, vice chairman of the rheumatology branch of Zhejiang Association of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, standing committee member of nephrology branch of Zhejiang Association of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine and member of the nephrology branch of Zhejiang Medical Association.
He presided over 2 provincial and ministerial-level projects, participated in 3 national-level projects, presided over 3 bureau-level projects, participated in more than 15 bureau-level and other projects. He has published one textbook as the chief editor and one monograph as the associate editor. He has won one second prize and one third prize at provincial and ministerial level, one first prize at bureau level, and published more than 40 papers. In addition, he has trained more than 30 postgraduates.
