The Studies on Clinical Relativity Between Facial Paralysis and The Level of Serum Total IgE and the Intervention of Thick-Needle

Objective: Observing the clinical relativity in Facial Paralysis and serum total IgE level, and evaluating the curative effect of treatment by different needles.

Methods: There were 60 patients of facial paralysis involved in this study. All the cases were selected on basis of unified diagnosis standards, including and excluding standards. The cases were randomized into two groups by serial number: think-needle group (control group) and traditional acupuncture group (treatment group). All the cases were evaluated by the indicators including House-Brackmann Scale and RPA index of facial symptoms and serum total IgE level pre-treatment and post-treatment. The relativity in Facial Paralysis and serum total IgE level was analyzed. The different therapeutic effects were analyzed by the statistic method. Security and compliance of the treatments were also assessed.

Results: 56 patients remained in the research at the end, including 28 patients in the treatment group and 28 patients in the control group. After two treatment courses the thick-needle group had a remarkable better effect than the traditional acupuncture group, especially on the total curative ratio. Facial paralysis and serum total IgE level have some clinical relativity, r=o.532, P<0.05;In reducing the level of serum total IgE, the thick-needle group had a remarkable better effect than the traditional acupuncture group, the curative effect of the two groups were statistically significant(P < 0.05).

Conclusion: The therapeutic effect of think-needle way in curing peripheral facial paralysis is better than the traditional acupuncture way, and through the preliminary statistics, facial paralysis and serum total IgE level have some clinical relativity. In reducing the level of serum total IgE, the thick-needle group had a remarkable better effect than the traditional acupuncture group.
